10 Ways Mindset Affects Your Success

Mindset affects the way we see things, the meaning we attach to the same situations,
the questions we ask ourselves, and ultimately our success in life.

It’s not just about financial success but success in all other aspects of our lives e.g. fitness, career
goals, health, and all our dreams and aspirations.

One of the most popular books on the personal finance space is “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.”
This book was based on the author interacting with two “fatherly figures- (his dad and his friend’s
dad).

Both had vastly different financial success and mindset toward success.
When Robert Kiyosaki took time to recollect the words and actions they took daily he
discovered MINDSET was the biggest factor that contributed to their different financial
successes in life.

He discovered that mindset determined whether you say, “I can’t afford this” while doing nothing about it vs “How can I afford this” and taking action. Same problem, a different mindset, and different levels of success.

The one major limit to wealth and success in life is how we constrain ourselves with the mind.

10 powerful ways mindset affects your success

10 Ways Mindset affects your Success.

1: Taking full responsibility for your life

Jocko Willink wrote a book and talked about “Extreme Ownership” as the #1 reason people fail or succeed. It’s easy to be trapped in self-doubt, blaming others, depression, and toxic relationships when you have a poor mindset.

But when you commit to taking 100% responsibility for your life and develop a growth mindset, you can naturally grow to
become a person that can achieve success and attract like-minded people that’ll take you closer to your goals.

2: Staying consistent

Consistency is hardly something you do out of mistake but through dedicated effort. If
If you want to achieve success in anything – you have to make a decision and make
dedicated effort to stay consistent at it.

Work on your Mindset to avoid common pitfalls that can prevent your success, growth in life, and business by
creating a game plan today and taking consistent action.

3: Maintaining the Right Attitude

Having a positive attitude towards your goals will increase the likelihood of success.
Cultivating the right Mindset is critically important, not only to your business
success but also to your personal life.

Success is not linear!  You must keep a positive attitude even when things are not going as expected. It takes you believing it is possible. Then with time and consistent effort, you’ll make it happen.

The most successful people are self-driven and maintain the right attitude towards their success.

They take advice and think through decisions but they don’t wait for luck, mentors, or their coaches to do the work for them.

4: Taking Risks

All successful people I know have taken one risk or the other. They don’t just pause or
go into safety mode after any success but they keep on taking more calculated risks.

Have you ever been with people that are afraid to take the tiniest risks about problems?
If you’re afraid to give your dreams a shot – work on changing your mindset today so you can learn to take risks.

Sometimes you just need to ask yourself and people ahead of you the right questions to develop the habit of taking risks. Good questions will get you answers and will help you reach your goals.

5: Persevere

how mindset affects success

Many successful people have lost quite a decent amount in building their businesses but are hardly shaken by failure because they’ve developed the right mindset of success from the start.

Successful people don’t dwell or complain about failures because they have a mindset of perseverance to get to their desired destination.
My Friend Josh Cousins says it best in his coaching and mastermind here: “If you go into this business with a half heart, or decide to just quit after a few days of not getting the results you want, then you’re going to fail. “

So many people compare themselves to those who have been making 6, 7, and even 8-figure commissions but what they don’t understand is these people have been in this game for YEARS mastering their craft. They’ve gone through the process of trying and failing
themselves, but the difference is they didn’t give up.

They committed to spending each and every single day mastering their craft. They had the persistence to keep on going even when it looked like they were never going to succeed. THAT is what separates those who succeed from those who fail. Sheer persistence and an insane drive are needed to become successful.”

6: Change your Environment

Once you realize that you’re then you start your environment plays a huge role in your success, then you start being more conscious of who you associate with and where you spend time in.

It’s important to surround yourself with people smarter and more successful than you. Surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and are supportive of your goals can provide motivation and encouragement.

7: Going the Extra Mile

Successful people go the extra mile – that is one big reason they are successful in the first place.

They don’t do more than they’re paid because of boredom or luck but by cultivating the “extra mile mindset” required to be successful.

When it’s uncomfortable you have a choice of moaning, complaining, and blaming everything around you instead of going the extra mile, and doing everything in your power to achieve the level of success you have been dreaming of!

First, you need to be clear about your why. Also in line is– if you love what you do – you won’t mind going the extra mile.

This is key to developing conviction and bringing results and success) consistently. Imagine the likes of late Kobe Bryant achieving all those feats without having any love for Basketball. Having a love for what you do especially when it aligns with your values and purpose is a plus.  It makes work not feel like work.

8: Building a Solid Foundation

success mindset

What are you doing now towards your success?  Do you have beliefs that are stopping you from your own growth?
Kick out ego, greed, fear of your own growth, and scarcity mindset and replace them with a gratitude mindset, abundance mindset, and growth mindset to build a solid rock-solid foundation to achieve success.

The key is to replace old limiting beliefs and install more empowering ones. It takes self-awareness to change your language! Instead of “What if I fail,” “what if everything goes wrong” to “what if I Succeed” or “what if everything goes right” and expecting success instead of failure.
Commit to laying the foundation for your success first by laying them down each and every day. Soon you’ll find yourself a castle( so to speak).

9: Investing in Yourself

10 ways mindset affects your success
This can mean reading the right books, meditating, having proper health, and building and maintaining a strong positive mindset.

Successful people have a mindset of taking care of their bodies to prevent burnout, reinvesting their earnings into growing their self
and businesses, and still believe that they have more to learn.

You don’t need to be “rich “or “successful” to invest in yourself. Change your mindset from waiting to have figured everything out to investing time to learn from books and educational materials and getting mentorship and coaches.

10: Have a solid Vision

Most of us were taught to “work hard… get good marks… get into a good college… then
get a job”- the middle-class dream and vision.

But that is not the only way to be successful. If you have a different vision or feel called to do something that doesn’t include college, it is great too. You just have to have conviction and vision. It takes a powerful mindset and attitude
to have a big vision.

Visualize achieving your goals to make them seem more attainable, and help you stay on track. No matter what happens in your life, keep your vision intact – no one can take it from you. It’s only lost when you give up.

People who don’t have the same goals and vision as you will never understand why you do what you do.
Remember, success doesn’t happen by chance- it comes from your effort.

So get clear on your vision, outline your priorities and manage your time effectively, take action daily so you can reach your desired goals and dreams.

I’ll leave you with a quote from Vishien in his book Code of the Extraordinary “I’ve observed that almost all of the extraordinary people I’ve met or read about have one thing in common: They have a vision for their future. It may be a new piece of art to create, a service or product to bring to the world, a mountain to climb, or a family to raise. These people live in the future in some way. Conventional spiritual growth
advocates talk about the need to be “present.” I believe that being present is only part of the story. Happiness in the now grounds you in the present. But you need bold dreams pulling you forward, too. Extraordinary people intend to leave a mark on the world”

Conclusion

As you can see mindset contributes a lot to success, and mindset also contributes to failure.  Promise me that you will embrace a growth mindset, a positive and abundance mindset. When you do that and consistently work towards your goals, no one can stop your success. It is guaranteed.
